Gemini is looking for a Part-time Seasonal Buyer to join the team at our location in Cannon Falls, MN! This position is responsible for managing sourcing activities, developing and maintaining business relationships with suppliers in assigned categories to maximize the value of the partnerships, to maintain or increase quality and drive cost out of the organization. This role will utilize cross-functional collaboration with Facilities, Product Management, Sales, Finance, Operations and IT to establish tools to measure the profitability within assigned categories and develop plans for continued engagement and improvement. This role will be accountable for driving supplier relationships that lead to the development of additional value, improved operational efficiencies, and long-term cost avoidance. A day in the life of a Buyer at Gemini involves:
- Reviews, submits, and acknowledges POs for Direct and Indirect components
- Coordinates inter-company shipments for delivery to various company locations
- Provides support to plant and distribution center teams to ensure strong alignment around servicing our end customers and ensuring efficient and profitable operations
- Assures that company procedures are followed and recommends changes for improvement
- Assists in the development of commodity strategies and trends. Supports communication to the Gemini’s leadership team and other stakeholders regarding commodity strategy effectiveness
- Conduct supplier analysis, evaluate potential suppliers, and manage the overall supplier qualification process.
- Manage RFQ’s process and select best source consistent with cost, quality, and delivery requirements
- Provides value by negotiating pricing and contracts for goods and/or services
- Develop and execute Performance Improvement Plans when required for assigned vendors
- Collaborate with suppliers to drive down costs for the business while deepening supplier relationship.
- Assist supplier and internal teams in resolving issues that may arise. Educate organization about supplier programs and benefits.
- Establish rapport with other Gemini teams, build effective relationships, and share wins and successes
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies, proactively question existing processes and procedures, and implement change to gain efficiencies
- Adheres to company purchasing ethics.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
- Experience in purchasing, supply chain, operations, manufacturing, planning, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- ERP experience is a plus, HarrisData preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is a plus
- Exposure to plastics, metals, or indirect purchasing is a plus
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPM, or APICS are a plus
